People can say what they want about Immortal's sound not being as evil or as punishing as Dark Funeral or Marduk, but man, this album just kicks the living shlitz out of you from beginning to end. Imagine At the Heart of Winter sped up and sounding even more evil than it already does: thus you have Damned In Black.

This is how the underrated Damned in Black was born. The cover art is very Immortal style. The three members posing with the usual grumpy demeanor. I have to confess that despite the fact that, at first, their covers seemed extremely ridiculous to me, surely with the passage of time one begins to take some taste of that style.
